Project Description

  • DevOps engineering team will be responsible for scaling some of the largest software products in Data Lake by automating the application infrastructure, deployment, and monitoring of those products in production.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Experience working as part of a collaborative, cross-functional, modern engineering team
  • Experience with infrastructure, network, database, or security troubleshooting and remediation
  • Experience installing and upgrading applications or databases and performing system maintenance
  • Experience monitoring the operational status and performance of, and configuring as well as tuning, stems, networks, or databases
  • Experience with building cloud configuration management, automation deployment.
  • Experience with operating system commands and utilities as well as scripting
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and GCP.
  • Experience in a cloud computing platform and the associated automation patterns it provides (preferably AWS)
  • Proficient in a modern scripting language (preferably python)
  • Proficient in production systems design including High Availability, Disaster Recovery,Performance, Efficiency, and Security
  • Experience in a modern infrastructure automation toolkit such as Terraform
  • Experience in destructive testing methodologies and tools
  • Experience in a version control system such as Git or SVN
  • Experience in defensive coding practices and patterns for high-availability
  • Experience with installation tools such as RPM and YUM

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems or related technical discipline from an accredited institution and/or minimum 2 years of relevant experience

Skills

  • 2- 4 years’ experience in Amazon web Services technology EC2, S3, VPC networking, VPN, Route 53, Lambda, RDS, ELB/Load balancer
  • Expert knowledge of system virtualization including bare metal and cloud hosted services
  • 3-4 Years of Experience Linux/Unix OS system administration, configuration, troubleshooting, performance tuning, preventative maintenance, and security procedures
  • 2-4 Years’ Experience developing chef cookbooks and AWS cloud formation templates.
  • 2-4 years of Experience in Python, shell scripting, Ruby
  • Intermediate understanding formulating procedures for installation of Hadoop patches, updates and version upgrades
  • Intermediate knowledge of DBs, SQL, Oracle, XML/SOAP, Restful API’s and Windows plugins.
  • Strong in Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with ability to analyze complex workflows, prioritize multiple tasks and make key decisions.

  • Drives design and development for major components of focused solutions
